Apprenticeship Program

Safetyscope personnel work through our in-house apprenticeship program enabling them to fulfill various tasks. 
One “apprentice year” is equal to 1500 hours field work and 320 classroom hours of training.

1st  Year
performs Attendant and after 6 months on the job, Rescuer roles.  These jobs have them stationed immediately outside a confined space monitoring the hazards and working the protective equipment needed by the workers inside.  The Rescuer role provides emergency extrication from confined spaces.

as well as completing the duties of 1st and 2nd year apprentices, these individuals begin to assist the instructors on courses we offer.

Throughout this year, their instructing skills are monitored and improved upon. Once the individual completes this year they become instructors of our courses.

Upon completion of the 4 year program, these individual now meet the Teacher criteria of the Private Vocational Schools Act and Regulations of Ontario. 

At this time we will encourage them to apply for their Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
